Bryan and Eddie met on a typical, gloomy and drizzly San Francisco evening at a bar called The Residence. After previously matching on OkCupid and exchanging a few messages, they decided to meet ‘IRL’ and got to know each other over a couple Allagash Whites. The date went well, and later that evening, before parting ways onto their respective MUNI lines, Bryan kissed Eddie on the corner of Church and Market Streets, and plans to see each other again were made.
Exactly 7 years after their first date, Bryan and Eddie got married at New York City Hall The Office of the City Clerk on a cold but bright afternoon, just the two of them. They exchanged vows and rings in a private room with an officiant, and took their first photos, as husbands, around Tribeca.
Afterwards, they had a drink at Stonewall Inn, paying tribute to the LGBTQ heroes who fought to legalize same-sex marriages, as well as dinner at their favorite restaurant, Gato. The next morning, they were off to Aruba, celebrating their secret elopement on some of the world’s most beautiful beaches.
Boomer and Brutus, the Best Men, helped us prepare for the special day by picking out our outfits, coordinating our boutonnieres and providing moral support. While they decided to keep warm and not participate in the ceremony, we know they were with us in spirit.
Over the years, we've attended countless concerts and festivals together, the first of which being Sam Sparro at The Independent in SF. We invite you to check out our playlist below. It's filled with songs that have played a role in our relationship, including artists we've grown up with and from the many live shows we’ve seen together.
All the photos from our special day were shot by the talented Kelly Prizel. We'd like to thank her for capturing our beautiful day together, and not to mention for sharing her tips and tricks for navigating an elopement in New York. If you're located in the NYC area, we can't recommend her enough!
